It’s cold, and snowy and pretty much nothing is growing right now in Southeastern Indiana. But doesn’t mean you can’t have local food fun in February.
How you ask?
You can have local food fun in February by attending a local food event! And it just so happens, there are two fun and informative local food events scheduled for next month.
Local Food Fun in February 2016
Food And Growers Association Annual Conference
The Food And Growers Association will be hosting their 10th annual conference on Saturday Feburary 6, 2016 at the Batesville Elementary School.
The conference is open to producers, gardeners and local food consumers!
Topics and events at this year’s conference will include: Raising and Marketing Heritage Poultry, Food as Medicine, Climate Change, a Soil Management Workshop and more!
The image above was created by the Food and Growers Association. It came in the email they sent out about the Event.
If you’d like to attend, you need to hurry. You have to RSVP by February 2nd, because seating is limited and they are filling up fast. Click here for more information.
The Beekeepers of Indiana will be hosting Bee School XIV at Decatur Central High School in Indianapolis on Feburary 27th.
Beekeepers of all skill levels are welcome. There will be hands on workshops, informative discussions, lectures, a raffle and an auction.
There will also be vendor displays and supplies available for purchase at the event.

Will you be attending one of these local food events?
They are a great way to learn more about producing your own food! And a fun way to connect with local farmers and like-minded local food supporters.
